I'm the winner of the Really Good Design Search!

Image
A few months ago I entered the Really Good design search to find:  "... the best, most original, and commercial range of designs that are suitable for cards, stationery and/or gifts." ( David Hicks ) The competition was being judged by some of the most influential people in the UK greetings and gift market, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to get some of my newest designs in front of industry experts including  WHSmith buyer  Claire Castle ;  Alan Harnik , president of US distributor Notes & Queries;  Jenny Cummins , MD of Australian distributor Macmillan Cards; Postmark’s managing director,  Mark Janson-Smith  and Progressive Greeting’s editor  Jakki Brown.   At PG Live in London in June it was announced I had made the shortlist of 4 finalists . And at the Harrogate gift fair on July 16th it was announced that I have won ! I could not be more surprised as the other finalists were very strong designers with wonderful and original design

Surtex & Licensing Expo 2018

Image
I've been extremely busy over the last few months creating brand new designs for my portfolio. My agents Jewel Branding & Licensing will once again be at Surtex (NYC) Booth 2627 from May 20 - 22 to show you all of my latest creations.  You can also catch them at Licensing Expo (Las Vegas) Booth H94 from May 22 -24.  My portfolio is full of warm and appealing patterns, illustrations and typography, with many on trend motifs of the moment interpreted in my ‘grown-up whimsical’ style. Designs are suitable across a broad range of product categories, so if you are visiting either of the shows please stop by and take a look. Themes include Holidays (Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s, Mother’s Day); florals; coastal; farmhouse; animals; global prints; inspirational art; travel prints and much more!  I am looking for licensing partners across many different categories including, but not limited to, stationery, home textiles, homeware, gift, bedding, b

New Collection - Camelot Fabrics: VILLAGE LIFE

Image
I’m so excited to share with you that my second fabric collection for Camelot Fabrics  has launched on their website . ‘Village Life’ is a particularly special collection for me because it’s inspired by my home in semi-rural Worcestershire, UK.  Prints include bold floral blooms from the village allotment... ... while patterns featuring hens, cockerels, pigs and runner ducks are all inspired by the farm that is a five minute walk from my home ( - I love those runner ducks so much!)  Typography patterns aim to reflect the community spirit of the village and even feature the clock at the village centre.  Camelot Fabrics say:  "Let the sun shine in! Vicky Yorke’s sophomore collection is about as charming as it gets with sunny yellow flowers, roosters, geese and pigs. The show-stopper: an edge-to-edge “I love my garden” border print." The designs are all in a super-pretty (and very on trend!) grey and yellow colourway mak

Spring Fair 2018 - Part 2

Image
I had such an exciting time at Spring Fair ! In addition to all the lovely products on display over on the Vicky Yorke Designs for Melamaster stand , it was also great to see my existing 'Sand Dunes' home, gift and stationery collection for Widdop & Co displayed beautifully over in hall 4. The Widdop stand is always one of the most extravagant at Spring Fair, with my collection on display within a little house ( - complete with smoking Chimney!) that they had built within the overall stand design! It was in a great location and it was really gratifying to see so many buyers stopping to admire the display! The only problem was that with so many buyers milling about and with harsh NEC lighting, it was quite difficult to get good photos... I haven't really done justice to how lovely the products are, but I have posted the best ones for you here. Existing products in the collection include tea light holders; oil burners; a clock; storage boxes; memory

Spring Fair 2018 - Part 1

Image
Following the successful launch of a selection of my products at Autumn Fair, I was delighted to have even more products featured across two stands at Spring Fair this year. Spring Fair is the UK's number one trade fair for home and gift products, showcasing the the best products and product launches from over 2,500 exhibitors. It's basically the place to be and be seen for UK home and gift retail and attracts the most influential UK retail buyers! I was honoured therefore that my licensing partner Melamaster devoted an ENTIRE STAND to promoting my products! It was absolutely huge and it was such a delight to see the stand area filled with all the bright and vibrant colours of my mix and match collections. With 4 collections on display, the stand was divided into 4 areas and the products were displayed on lovely whitewashed pallets and crates to really help the colours to pop!  On show were products including trays, pot stands, chop boards, place mats, coasters
