Surtex and Licensing Expo Recap

Image
It's been great to hear from my agents, Jewel Branding , that the summer shows at Surtex, New York and Licensing Expo, Las Vegas were a resounding success with lots of exciting companies visiting the stand and many of them choosing to view my portfolio with the possibility of becoming licensing partners in the near future! Jewel have kindly shared with me some photos of their booths, which I'm sure you'll agree looked absolutely fantastic! First, are some images of the booth at Surtex, where each of the Jewel designers were asked to format their designs into hexagons, which were then used to create a really striking stand display. How many of my designs can you spot in the photos below?! And below are images of the stand at Licensing Expo, where some of my designs were shown on large digital display screens.   If you missed the shows, but would like to view my full portfolio please contact Beth Franklin - beth@jewe...

Mugs (Part 4)

Image
My final round up of designs from my mugs project is yet more lovely florals! I particularly enjoy designing ditsy flower prints, so the following designs were loads of fun to do! Bolder floral prints took the form of this mid century inspired stem design... ...and a pretty crochet edge floral in trendy blue and white. With so many different styles there's a mug design for virtually everyone - which one would you choose?! Copyright Kitchen Craft 2014.

Mugs (Part 3)

Image
Among my favourite of the mug designs were the florals, as I love creating this type of print. Kitchen Craft bought the above design from me after seeing it in my licensing portfolio and I then helped them rework it into the following two mug designs - the first is very similar to the original print... ...and the second is in a new bright pink and purple colourway, which I think is very striking. I love the colour and shape of this mug and must confess it has become one of my favourite mugs for drinking my morning coffee! In contrast to the bright colour way of the pink mug is a much more neutral wheat leaf print, which I designed to fit easily into any kitchen. It's a simple, but pretty design to hopefully appeal to many tastes.  A simple stripe makes the third design in the blue and beige mug colour group. Images copyright Kitchen Craft 2014.

New Range! - Let It Snow! (Part 1)

Image
As I have mentioned before I absolutely love Christmas, so I am always very happy when asked to design a Christmas product range! My new design for Kitchen Craft is called 'Let it Snow' and was inspired by snowflakes and beautiful Christmas poinsettia flowers. The main designs are below ( - although the blue pattern is uploading in the wrong colour for some reason! - See the photos for a more accurate colour match!) In addition to the three patterns above there is also a more uniform tiny snowflake pattern and a stripe motif. I am a big fan of mix and match patterns within product ranges, so had great fun placing all the different variants together. I think it has worked particularly well on the 3 nibble bowl set below, where the patterns combine with the wooden tray for a delightfully warm Christmassy feel! The range has a two tier cake stand with matching cupcake cases, and a selection of different sized cake plates for all manner of Christmas tre...
