Art Licensing Show - Christmas Colouring Book!

Image
Earlier in the year I created a Christmas line drawing page and submitted it to a selection panel for the Art Licensing Show Christmas colouring book . The idea of the colouring book is to be a free downloadable resource that can be used by anyone from schools to hospitals in order to spread some cheer over the festive season. I was delighted to find that not only was my page selected for inclusion in the colouring book, but my designs are also used on the inside and back covers. Hopefully it will help to spread lots of happiness this Christmas! Use the link in pink to download your copy!

Vicky Yorke Designs Website!

Image
I've been working really hard over the last few weeks to finally get my website online to showcase my newest designs! It's taken a lot of planning, but I'm really pleased with how it's looking! It's a sad fact that as a designer I have to consider how much I share online, because there is always a risk that designs could get stolen or copied, so rather than being a complete portfolio of my licensing collections, the website acts as a glimpse of my design style and personality! Anyone who likes the designs showcased on the website can  contact me to view my full licensing portfolio. Take a look - I hope you like it!

Fanci Baking!

Image
I'm very excited to finally be able to share with you a project I've been working on for a while now! Fanci Baking is a huge range of beautiful baking and gift products developed by Captivate Brands that was launched at the International Home & Housewares Show in Chicago. The range is inspired by the 1950's, but is reinvented for the modern home. I had so much fun creating a selection of complimentary patterns from ditsy prints to large placement florals, but all with a strong 1950's vibe. The range spans over 200 products, so I have just shown a few of my favourite products below!

Mugs (Part 4)

My final round up of designs from my mugs project is yet more lovely florals! I particularly enjoy designing ditsy flower prints, so the following designs were loads of fun to do! Bolder floral prints took the form of this mid century inspired stem design... ...and a pretty crochet edge floral in trendy blue and white. With so many different styles there's a mug design for virtually everyone - which one would you choose?! Copyright Kitchen Craft 2014.

Mugs (Part 3)

Image
Among my favourite of the mug designs were the florals, as I love creating this type of print. Kitchen Craft bought the above design from me after seeing it in my licensing portfolio and I then helped them rework it into the following two mug designs - the first is very similar to the original print... ...and the second is in a new bright pink and purple colourway, which I think is very striking. I love the colour and shape of this mug and must confess it has become one of my favourite mugs for drinking my morning coffee! In contrast to the bright colour way of the pink mug is a much more neutral wheat leaf print, which I designed to fit easily into any kitchen. It's a simple, but pretty design to hopefully appeal to many tastes.  A simple stripe makes the third design in the blue and beige mug colour group. Images copyright Kitchen Craft 2014.

Mugs (Part 2)

After a brief interlude to show you what was happening at the exhibitions last month, I am today returning to my mugs project. Lots of different styles were required for this brief from simple spots, stripes and stars shown below, to the more detailed painted designs I showed you previously.  I was asked to create a highly intricate butterfly illustration using fine liner pen, which was coloured in a variety of different tone on tone pastel colours, with the pale purple and pale pink options below finally being chosen. Showing Off!

This month my designs have once again been showcased by Kitchen Craft on their stand at The Spring Fair (NEC, UK) and Ambiente (Messe Frankfurt, Germany). Thousands of people walk the halls at these prestigious industry shows including buyers from top retailers around the world. It is always a privilege to have designs shown at these exhibitions so I was really upset not to make the shows in person this year due to other design commitments (... more details to follow soon hopefully!), but I was able to get these images from the Kitchen Craft Facebook page. Above is a lovely display of my 'World of Flavours - Chinese' range at Spring Fair, which I showed you in more detail on the blog back in August. Above and in the below shot (left and middle of the Cool Movers stand) is a sneaky peak at my two new summer ranges...! Above is a spooky display of my Halloween range design for 'Spookily Does It' ( - You can read more about this design here ) and below is a ...
