A Few Changes At www.vickyyorkyyorkedesigns.com ...

Image
The shop is now re-open after its little break and as I continue to restock for Christmas, I wanted to address some changes you might have noticed.  As many of you know, I opened the shop in 2020 during the pandemic as a way to keep my business going and as a place to sell some of my licensed products and the handmade items I would normally be selling at craft fairs. I really appreciated your response. I was, and remain, so grateful for your support during such a difficult period for me while I was shielding. Not only did it bring in much needed income, but it offered me a connection to the outside world as I chatted to customers and other store owners online. As the world, (including my own little shielding world), has opened back up I have found myself busier and busier with freelance projects and licensing again, which is great because that’s the core of my business, but I’ve also found I’ve really been neglecting the shop this year, which makes me sad. (I’m really quit...

Licensing Expo, Las Vegas

Image
Following on from the success of Surtex in New York last month, my agents, Jewel Branding & Licensing will be exhibiting at another major art licensing show this week - Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, which runs from 21st - 23rd June. I've been extremely busy preparing for this show over the last few months and in addition to my portfolio shown at Surtex, I have now added over 50 brand new pieces of art including repeat patterns, illustration and typography! These pieces add to existing ranges, as well as making up 6 completely new themed ranges, with designs suitable across many different product areas. There are designs for everyday including my 'Geometrico' range, which was developed from sketchbook doodles created while travelling around Italy earlier in the year ( - shown above). 'Mosaic' (- below) is loosely inspired by the current trend for colouring book art and mixes black and white geometric line drawings with bright pops of colour for a really f...

Art Licensing Show - Christmas Colouring Book!

Image
Earlier in the year I created a Christmas line drawing page and submitted it to a selection panel for the Art Licensing Show Christmas colouring book . The idea of the colouring book is to be a free downloadable resource that can be used by anyone from schools to hospitals in order to spread some cheer over the festive season. I was delighted to find that not only was my page selected for inclusion in the colouring book, but my designs are also used on the inside and back covers. Hopefully it will help to spread lots of happiness this Christmas! Use the link in pink to download your copy!

Vicky Yorke Designs Website!

Image
I've been working really hard over the last few weeks to finally get my website online to showcase my newest designs! It's taken a lot of planning, but I'm really pleased with how it's looking! It's a sad fact that as a designer I have to consider how much I share online, because there is always a risk that designs could get stolen or copied, so rather than being a complete portfolio of my licensing collections, the website acts as a glimpse of my design style and personality! Anyone who likes the designs showcased on the website can  contact me to view my full licensing portfolio. Take a look - I hope you like it!

Christmas is nearly here and if you're still looking for last minute Christmas presents, my 'Let It Snow' patterns are available on a large selection of products that would make lovely gifts, including 5 different but complimentary porcelain mugs. There is also everything you need to make your Christmas table beautiful, including felt coasters, place mats, napkin rings and place mats!   ... and a choice of either a felt cut out table runner... ... or a printed cotton one! In addition to all the serving platters that I showed you in my last post, there is also a matching snowflake platter and gravy boat to complete your Christmas setting. Have a magical Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!! xxx Images copyright Kitchen Craft 2013.

New Range! - Let It Snow! (Part 1)

Image
As I have mentioned before I absolutely love Christmas, so I am always very happy when asked to design a Christmas product range! My new design for Kitchen Craft is called 'Let it Snow' and was inspired by snowflakes and beautiful Christmas poinsettia flowers. The main designs are below ( - although the blue pattern is uploading in the wrong colour for some reason! - See the photos for a more accurate colour match!) In addition to the three patterns above there is also a more uniform tiny snowflake pattern and a stripe motif. I am a big fan of mix and match patterns within product ranges, so had great fun placing all the different variants together. I think it has worked particularly well on the 3 nibble bowl set below, where the patterns combine with the wooden tray for a delightfully warm Christmassy feel! The range has a two tier cake stand with matching cupcake cases, and a selection of different sized cake plates for all manner of Christmas tre...
