Spotted! - Pencil cases!

While wandering around Tesco recently I came across the first of my 2011 pencil cases, which I have designed for Helix. It's always great to see products in store as it's the end of over a 12 month process. Designs include 'Skulls', 'Brit Rock' and 'Superstar Doodle', which has a space on one side for kids to add their own designs.

Today is Indie Friday - t he Colourful Independent alternative to Black Friday.   As anyone who has followed my shop will know I have never had a Black Friday sale - only colourful weekend sales! Personally, I find the whole concept of Black Friday rather depressing. It sounds so bleak and sapped of life. And actually if you look into the history, it's not that great... JUST A CARD INDIE WEEK - DAY 3

I love visiting independent stores and gift markets at any time of the year, to wander round looking at the treasure trove of loveliness and finding beautiful presents for loved ones - and little treats for myself! But at Christmas I think independents really come into their own. The stores are beautifully decorated, the gift stalls are fabulously festive and there is always a warm welcome! They've been adding to the loveliness all year... It's just really special and I know they are waiting for you to pop along and give them their time to shine! Today is my absolute favourite day of Just A Card Indie Week, because it's the day I get to shout about my favourite independent businesses! 'Virtual Coffee Morning' for Macmillan

On the 28 September Macmillan cancer support is holding it’s annual fundraising event – ‘The world’s biggest coffee morning.’ Support for cancer sufferers is a cause very close to my heart. Like so many people I have lost family members to cancer – and thankfully, I have family members who have survived cancer. I also have first hand experience of the disease as around 20 months ago I was diagnosed with a form of Leukaemia known as CML. Since diagnosis I have been on a clinical trial and am extremely lucky, because due to medication and the support I receive from family and friends I am predominantly able to get on with my life without major disruption at the moment. However it’s a long haul and I understand that for cancer sufferers the future is often uncertain…I spend a lot of time in the cancer care unit at my local hospital and see the impact that cancer has on people’s lives    – Thankfully Macmillan is there to provide practical, medical and financial support when cancer get
